That’s correct I’m not lying! No more diet! No more I cant have that or that is good that is bad! Or I cant eat carbs after 4pm!!!!!
Team our approach to long term weight loss has always been sustainability!
Yes this means a slower progress but it also means a realistic long term health change.
In the beginning of a health change it can feel as though your on a diet but that’s because your changing your old habits! Think of it like training. You start training you feel sore and its super hard, but one day you rock up and its easy!!
Well when your changing past habits for new ones this is exactly the same! I’m not saying its easy but also consider this from a phycological point of view.
If I told you ok from now on your 1200 -1500 cals a day and no carbs after 4pm no “soul meals “nothing off the plan for 12 weeks! Maybe some of you would achieve this, like 10% and most of you wouldn’t. Leaving you feeling like you failed and when we feel this way what tends to happen is we revert back to our old habits. Our brain is told that wasn’t good enough so you mise as well stop! Maybe you have experience this in the past!
This issue is a few things!
1. We put a date on it if your not this is 12 weeks then you failed”
2. We put ourselves on to something we know in our heart is not maintainable long term.
3. We take a all or nothing attitude.
All of the above leads us to compromise our end result before we even start.
.
what if we did this instead!
I want to be fit and healthy and I’m going to set small achievable weekly or monthly goals rather then always focusing on the one big thing! i.e I want to lose 10kg 20kg 10% body fat. We should be saying this week ill lose 0.8kg or 0.4% body fat or I'm going to eat vegetables every meal ! See how doing that would help you to feel like your achieving things!
Try to see the changes you are making as long term changes because you truly want health and fitness not just want to see results in 12 weeks. E.G not eating carbs ….will you never eat another carb???
Seriously!
We aim to understand that if want long term health and fitness what ever we do needs to be achievable that doesn’t mean easy but it means realistic.
I’m not discounting any dieting method in particular and unfortunately we live in society where everything is here now , quick and easy to get so that’s why we believe we need to achieve things quickly.
What if I told you people that use strategies like whole food, carb timing, diet breaks and learning how and when we need certain foods have more chances of keeping weight off long term BUT you need to do it slow and steady.
Would you want to do it this way or would you prefer 12 weeks of hell with and 80% chance of you putting it all back on!
